In SEO (Search Engine Optimising), a basic distinction is made between on-page and off-page optimisation.

Off-page optimisation is the improvement of links to our pages from other websites (link building). This is an important part of SEO.

"OnPage" are the things that we can influence on our site with technical and content-related work. This is where additor® provides you with the framework so that you can simply enter your content without having to worry about the technical aspects.

Once you are clear about which content and keywords you want to make visible or improve your ranking on Google, for example, you can start entering the optimised content with additor®.

Where can SEO-relevant content be edited?

  • Page title and title tag
The page title appears on every normal content page as the H1 heading. The page title is also used as a title tag. This appears in the browser tab, for example
  • Short page title (for navigation)
Is used for navigation in the menu and page path. This gives it relevance as a linked keyword.
  • Section title
If the section title is displayed on the page, it is set as an H2 heading.
  • All types of text that can be placed on pages through entries. The text can be further structured by using headings (H3-H5), for example, so that it can be easily interpreted by search engines. Internal links from keywords to pages that provide information on the topic can increase the relevance of the text.
  • Alt tags
This is the image description that must be used wherever images can be embedded. It was originally only intended to be displayed in place of the image if the image could not be loaded. However, it is now also important for accessibility and SEO.
  • Image caption
Is also semantically assigned to the image for image entries. This means that it is not only located next to the image, but can also be interpreted by search engines as text that is about the image.
  • Meta tags
The relevance of meta tags is debatable. Nevertheless, it is still usually recommended to set them for important pages. You can do this in the page settings. "Description" and "Keywords" are common meta tags.
  • URLs
Keywords can be used in the URL of a page to increase the relevance of a page. If you use the URL like a directory, entire page branches can be categorised thematically for search engines so that keywords do not have to be repeated in the URL.

Outside of the CMS, there is also the domain name. If this is not already set, keywords can be included here.

The file names of uploaded images and PDFs should also contain meaningful designations. If you want to do this later, the images would have to be uploaded again.
