How big can videos be? (file size)

From additor/xpedeo there is actually no limit, but the data must be transferred via the Internet and possibly via a mobile connection, so it should be as small as possible. This can reduce waiting times for users.

There are a variety of video editing programs available to optimise the size of a video. There are sometimes considerable differences in the compression of MP4 videos.
In our experience, we have often been able to reduce MP4 videos delivered with the open source tool handbrake(handbrake.fr) to 50% or less of the original size without any visible deterioration in quality.

There may be a limitation when uploading the video file to your server. There is a technical file size limit set by the server operator. This can be adjusted if necessary. The maximum file size is adjusted under the upload field.

How big can videos be? (height, width)

Videos are automatically displayed as wide as the column in which they are located allows. You can therefore upload videos in any dimensions.

However, the video should ideally be approximately the size of the column. If it is too small, the display quality will suffer. If it is too large, the video will take longer to load.
