The additor newsletter module not only enables you to create and send newsletters, but also to maintain recipient lists. You can use additor's tried and tested backend, which allows you to easily compile the content.
There is a separate page type for newsletters that can be used via "New Page". You can enable your visitors to subscribe to your newsletter using the "Newsletter subscription / unsubscription" entry type. Subscribers are managed under "Extras-> Newsletter recipients"
Page type newsletter
In principle, like any other page in additor, this page type can be filled with content as you wish. However, since there are a large number of email programs among recipients and they still have extremely poor HTML / CSS support, there are restrictions:
- Own layout
Newsletters can usually not have the same layout as your website. Responsiveness and interactivity cannot be shown. Newsletter layouts are the lowest common denominator of what the most widely used email programs support.
We design a suitable layout for your requirements. - Entry types
Not all Additor entry types are suitable for a newsletter. For example, videos cannot be displayed in many email programs. Such entry types will not be shown in the newsletter.
Well suited are: Text, image, teaser, contact and document.
In the page settings of the newsletter page there is an additional area for the settings of the newsletter:
- Presentation template
If you want to send newsletters with different layouts, you can select the desired template here. - Preview
Opens the preview of your newsletter in a new tab. - Test delivery to email
Sends your newsletter to the specified email address. - Newsletter recipient list
Here you can select the desired recipient list to which the newsletter will be sent. - Start submit / interrupt submit / continue submit / reset status
Starts sending the newsletter. After the start, the dispatch is prepared and carried out in blocks. If not all mails have been sent, you can interrupt the sending and continue. With "Reset status" the newsletter can be sent again to all recipients of the selected list.
Recipient lists
For the management of recipient lists, there is a separate area in Additor 6, which can be found under "Extras" -> "Newsletter recipients".
In the list you can edit the settings of the list (name, active - yes / no) or you can display the list of the included recipients by clicking on the number of recipients.
In addition to creating, deleting and editing individual entries, the list can also be exported here as a CSV. Conversely, a CSV file with recipients can also be imported. There are different modes here:
- Replace list completely
All existing entries in the recipient list are deleted. The recipients contained in the CSV file are added to the recipient list. - Add and activate the included recipients
The recipients contained in the CSV file are added to the recipient list. Existing recipients are retained. - Deactivate contained recipients
The recipients contained in the CSV file are searched for in the recipient list and deactivated if necessary. - Delete contained recipients
The recipients contained in the CSV file are searched for in the recipient list and deleted if necessary.
Entry type "newsletter subscription"
With this entry you enable the visitors of the website to subscribe to the newsletter or to cancel the subscription.
In the entry you select the desired recipient list. You can also control whether login and / or unsubscribe buttons should be displayed.
